(06.06.23) We are delighted to see that Professor Arif Ahmed has officially been appointed as the government’s first Director of Free Speech within the Office for Students (OfS). Professor Ahmed has campaigned for free speech over a number of years and is an excellent appointment for this much needed and newly created role. We wish him every success and look forward to seeing significant progress in the protection and enhancement of free speech within the UK higher education network.
